Electronics are where functional and decorative CC differ most. A functional TV or computer works like EA's: Sims can watch, play and work on it. A decorative one only looks the part. Both have a place, as a decorative monitor or console finishes a desk that already has a working computer.
Functional electronics are usually clones of an EA object, so a gaming PC built on a pack's computer may need that pack. Check the packs line before you download.
EA's base-game TVs are starting to look their age, and CC is the easiest fix. Set up a desk with study furniture, build a TV corner with living room furniture, and add lighting and decor.
Frequently asked questions
Can Sims use CC TVs and computers?
Yes, when they're functional. A functional CC computer or TV has the same interactions as the EA object it's built on.
Why does my CC computer need a pack?
It's built on a computer from that pack. Without the pack, the item may not show up or work.
Can Sims use a decorative computer?
No. Decorative electronics have no interactions, so pair them with a working computer if your Sim needs one.
