Lights are one of the few decor items the game actually uses: they set the mood of a room, and Sims switch them on and off. Most CC lights are functional and behave like EA's. Some string and fairy lights are decorative meshes that glow without lighting the room, and creators say when that's the case.

Lighting is where a build gets its atmosphere. Layer a ceiling light for brightness with lamps and sconces for warmth, and the same room feels cosy after dark.

Rarely. Most lights are base game compatible, and the listing names a pack when one is needed.
