Dining furniture has one job to do well: Sims sitting together to eat. Functional CC tables and chairs work like EA's, and any functional chair placed at a table can be used, so you don't need a matching set. Check that the table has enough places for the whole household.
Decorative place settings and centrepieces look great in screenshots, but they can get in the way of Sims' plates. Keep the everyday table simple and save the full spread for a dinner party.
For open-plan homes, pair your table with kitchen and living room pieces from the same creator so the wood tones match. A pendant from lighting over the table finishes the room.
Frequently asked questions
Can Sims eat at CC dining tables?
Yes, when the table is functional. Sims sit, eat and chat at it like an EA table.
Why won't my Sims sit at the table?
The chairs may be too far from the table, or decorative only. Place functional chairs snug against the table's edge.
Do CC chairs need to match the table?
No. Any functional chair works at any functional table.
