A script mod that saves your game every Sim day, so there is always a recent backup. The default setting saves at 5 AM across seven rotating slots, and the creator says that gives about five weeks of backups. You change the number of slots and the hour with the daily_save command in the cheat console.
Good to know: Script mods need to be turned on in the game options before this will run. Setting the slots to 0 turns it off.
